The Turkish/German DJ and producer Deniz Koyu became world-renowned for his progressive house productions that erupted during the years 2014/2015. In his baggage, he collects numerous shows with DJs like Nicky Romero, Axwell & Ingrosso, Alesso, and has always been a strong name for the mainstream scene!
In the middle of 2016, after the launch of its parallel project KO:YU, it changed the progressive house by a sound for a style more future bass and big room. But in this exclusive interview during the ADE 2018, who are fans of a good progressive house from the old ones, will have a great surprise! Get connected!
Tell us a little bit more about your “Atlantis” track released by Spinnin’ recently:
Deniz Koyu: So “Atlantis” is a song that I just released on Spinnin ‘Records and I’m very happy about it. It’s a progressive house song and I consider it the first song I recorded again as Deniz Koyu, who represents my roots. After a long time focused on other styles, I am now returning to my roots, to the style I have always known, the progressive house. So this is very good for me. I’m really happy to have received positive feedback and will soon be releasing more songs in the same style.
What are your tracks that most people are eager to listen to?
Deniz Koyu: I have a lot of music that you guys always expect me to play. I think my most classic ones are: “Tung”, the “Bong” and also has the “I Wanna Know” version of Alesso. The guys always ask for these and I love playing them.
What can we expect for 2019?
Deniz Koyu: I have so many plans for next year … A lot of new songs, singles, collabs, various cool things, as well as the shows … But generally, for next year, I’ll focus more on my Deniz Koyu project again.
Of course, I will also do songs for KO: YU, but I will focus on the Deniz Koyu project, with a very progressive house in a sound focused on clubs. So yeah, there’s a lot of stuff coming up next year and I can not wait!
And when we talk about Brazil, what comes to your mind?
Deniz Koyu: I’ve actually played it several times in Brazil and every time I enjoyed it a lot! I did my remix for Alesso’s song with Anitta for “Vai Malandra”, so I think it’s time to go back to Brazil soon. Unfortunately, for this year I have no plans, but next year for sure! Hope to see you again soon!
